The train will travel 10,000km around Queensland for 5 weeks, followed by 7 days at Roma Street Station and 5 days at the Workshops Rail Museum (Ipswich).

The train will have four display carriages fitted out with exciting, interactive and informative displays which will represent all the faculties at QUT.  The QUT Smart Train is a community service activity and is the fifth such venture undertaken by QUT.

The 2008 Train is sponsored by the State Government and the University including all faculties and division of QUT.  In-kind support is being provided by Queensland Rail, ABC Local Radio and Channel 10.
