Green and healthy ideas, initiatives and innovations
The Queensland University of Technology’s Smart Train is set to move around Queensland from May 11 to June 20. The train will feature the latest innovations in science and technology that are good for people, good for the planet.
To celebrate its month-long, 10,000 km journey across the state, APN Newspapers is joining forces with the QUT Smart Train, Australia Post and the Queensland Government to showcase our own green and health ideas, initiatives and innovations.
We are calling on local residents and businesses to tell us your latest idea, initiative or innovation – either at home or at work – that is good for people, good for the planet.
All you need to do is tell us about your idea, initiative or innovation that may help save lives or our planet; conserves water or energy, reduces waste or recycles; assists us to maintain fitter and healthier lives; or will help build sustainable communities.
Your entry needs to be original and fit with the theme good for people, good for the planet. You simply need to send us a written description and if appropriate, include photographs, drawings, electronic files or samples (maximum two pages in length).
A selection of entries will be featured in our local newspaper with one local winner being selected to represent our area in the state competition. Local winners will receive an office printer valued at $100 from Australia Post and be featured in this newspaper.
The state winner will receive an office equipment, supplies and mailing
mega-pack from Australia Post valued at $1200, and relevant counsel and guidance from Queensland Government bodies to assist with the continuing development of the winning entry.*
Local entries must be in by Friday 13 June 2008 and will be published on Saturday 21 June 2008. The state winner will be announced on Monday 30 June 2008.
